Brokerage: Cashiering & Money Movement

  • Clients can elect to pay for securities purchases or contribute to a retirement brokerage account by submitting a check, EFT transfer, wire transfer, or journal. Use the MMLIS Check Deposit Guide to learn more about the acceptable forms of payment by check.

    Periodic investment plans (PIPs) can be established to systematically invest in a mutual fund position or to build the cash core fund. Advisors can use: 

    Wealthscape Use Wealthscape's Integrated Cashiering Platform (ICP) to establish new PIPs and make modifications to existing plans.

  • With the Asset Movement Authorization Form (AMA) (found in Advisor360°) on file with MMLIS, advisors can request paperless distributions from a retirement account directly via the Integrated Cashiering Platform (ICP) on Wealthscape. Standing instructions for check, EFT, wire and journal distributions can also be established.

    Periodic Distribution plans allow clients to make automatic distributions from their retirement brokerage accounts. Earnings Distributions Plans allow clients to be paid dividends, interest, and/or capital gains automatically.

    The FINRA RMD Calculator is available to assist with calculating Required Minimum Distributions (RMDs).

  • Remote check deposit (RCD) provides firms with the ability to scan and electronically submit checks via a smart phone or check scanner in their agencies. MMLIS reviews and approves these check deposits, which are transmitted to National Financial Services (NFS) for immediate deposit.

    For registered reps and clients

    Mobile check deposit is a feature in the Wealthscape and Wealthscape Investor mobile apps that allow advisors and clients to conveniently deposit checks into eligible brokerage accounts straight from a mobile device. Users simply snap a picture of the check, key in the amount, and select the brokerage account(s) to receive the deposit.

  • A self-service money movement feature on Wealthscape Investor enables clients to easily and quickly transfer money to and from their brokerage accounts at their convenience. Clients can create and monitor:

    • Non-retirement check disbursements to the address of record.

    • Non-retirement electronic funds transfers (EFTs) to or from a designated bank account.

    • Cash journal transfers between their non-retirement individual and joint brokerage accounts.

    • Retirement contributions via EFT or journal.
